HOBBLE at the WATERSIDE - Aylesbury Waterside Theatre -
Sunday 26 February 2012

The rumours are true; organiser's of Buckinghamshire's largest free all-day music festival 'Hobble on the Cobbles' have set a date at the new Aylesbury Waterside Theatre for Sunday 26th February 2012 for a very special live-music event.

"HOBBLE at the Waterside" as it's affectionately called will, like its counterpart, feature and promote a number of talented local bands (of various genres), – something which the Waterside Theatre has been heavily criticised for not supporting in the past.

This event will run from 12.30pm till 11pm, and feature acoustic singer-songwriters, rock guitar bands, local pop & rock original and 'cover' bands, and will be headlined by the very popular 70's Soul, Dance & Disco band Platform Soul – plus, there are a few very special guests performing as well.

Event organiser (and Managing Director of local events company 'Aylesbury Showcase') Stuart Robb explains; "We were originally approached by the Waterside Theatre to organise and host a 'Hobble on the Cobbles'-style event to specifically promote and feature local bands. – We thought this was too good an opportunity to miss, especially as we were unable to hold a (Market Square) HOTC this year, mainly due to lack of funding, sponsorship and financial support".

Stuart continues; "We are also extremely proud, and very pleased to announce the involvement of the British Guitar Academy at this event, which is spear-headed by Steve Rothery, (guitarist with the multi-million selling rock band Marillion), whose aims are to inspire, develop and educate guitarists and music fans, not just about the guitar and live performance, but also the Music Industry as a whole.

Of course, unlike the HOTC, this event has to be a ticketed event, but we've tried to keep this as low as possible to be accessible and enjoyed by everyone".

'Friars Management Ltd' Managing Director and 'Friars' Promoter David Stopps adds: "It's great that 'Aylesbury Showcase' are putting on this gig for local bands at the Waterside, and I very much hope that it will get the support it deserves".

Also performing at 'HOBBLE at the Waterside' will be Steve Rothery (Marillion), Tin Spirits (featuring Dave Gregory, former XTC guitarist), Katie Buckhaven, Lost Minute, Gravity Blue amongst many other great local bands, plus a few surprise guests as well.

Doors open at 12 noon, but tickets are only required from 4pm-11pm, so music fans can enjoy 3½ hours of free live-music as well. Tickets are on sale for £14 each at the Waterside Theatre Box Office.

Tickets are limited, so please don't delay if you want to come along to support this event.
